Description
Purpose: The Nativity story with a twist. This skit explores a humorous “what if’ scenario. What if the Shepherds see the star, and the Wisemen hear the
Angel’s herald about the manger. The skit ends with the true Biblical account, and a reminder that Jesus is God’s gift for us all — This…Is Christmas.

Props: Biblical Costumes for all but the Narrator.
Narrator could wear all black, black shirt and jeans. Narrator’s script book or black binder, Two Sticks for Wiseman Two to use as Drums Sticks, Spotlight, Manger, Swaddled Baby, Two Shepherd’s Staffs
Presentation: Narrator should be either stage left or stage right, dressed in all black with podium, light, and black binder with the script. Narrator needs to pace themself to allow for the whole scene to play out.
The decor and props can be as simple or elaborate as you need. May work well to use the whole room if the venue is small. Establish an area where the manger scene will unfold. Stage crew will need to place the manger and possibly a bench for Mary and Joseph during the Wisemen’s scene.
Shepherds should walk in and land center stage.
Wisemen should be on stage opposite the Narrator, visible but frozen.
